Free Space is a space-themed mobile game where players choose between four production branches: combat, mining, piracy, or trade. The game focuses on player agency, allowing complete freedom based on playstyle and time investment.
Through a deep meta-game system, players unlock new mission tiers and expand their influence across a procedurally-influenced galaxy. The experience is driven by a dynamic economy and high-stakes social competition, where every decision impacts the player’s standing in the universal rankings.
Players compete across the galaxy to upgrade equipment and climb branch-specific rankings.
I joined the team to refine the user experience and ensure a seamless interface for a complex multi-branch system.
During development, we were selected for a game incubator. This required an immediate shift in our workflow to meet strict professional requirements, including the creation of a comprehensive GDD from scratch.
Despite the tight timeframe, I successfully balanced my UX tasks with documentation, contributing to the project’s successful selection and progression within the incubator program.
